Located on the corner of Lexington Parkway and Grand Avenue, this St. Hard to believe this place stays in business. The Lexington Exceptional ( 2354) American Saint Paul Booked 31 times today The Lexington is more than a restaurant, it’s an institution. Dirty restaurant, small portions and not so great food. I ate a few bites and left it, ate the middle of the sandwich picking out the chicken, ate the few pieces of pineapple and left there hungry. I like a smooth tomato basil and the Cities have so many good restaurants offering tomato basil. It was loaded with cranberries (more than chicken) and all I tasted was the hard bread. The chicken salad was basically nowhere to be found on the sandwich. The bread was hard and although the sandwich was quite small, there was maybe 1/8 cup (if that) of chicken salad on the sandwich with a pile of spinach. I didn't even think a place like this would serve only melons or I would have never gotten the fruit. The fruit was fruit like you'd get at a Perkins, mainly cantaloupe and honeydew with five slivers of pineapple. Well, they knew I was gf and it came loaded with all kinds of cubed bread in the soup with two slices of bread on the plate along side the soup. The soup was a larger portion than I had hoped not knowing how many sizes there were. The food came quickly, however they forgot my coffee that I had to ask about. There wasn't a clean table in the one whole area. I went to sit down and noticed all the decent tables towards the windows had not been wiped down. My bill was a whopping $25, that was lunch. I ordered the curry chicken salad sandwich on gf bread, a side of fruit instead of the chips, a cup of tomato basil soup and a bulletproof coffee. You order at the front register and they bring the food to you. The feel of the place in my opinion was cold and bland, not what I was expecting. Besides great food, I like a decent and clean ambiance. Saying this because I know good, whole food creations. I am a really strict, organic eater and have to say a very good home cook as. I had not heard about this place until this year. I was really excited to try this restaurant because I love People's Organic and this seemed very similar.
